Martin County Rejects Western Growth Proposal

Finally, common sense rules and the Martin County Commissioners have voted against expanding growth in Western Martin County.

But wait . . . it's not over yet. The vote against the growth was more of a vote for additional studies. We'll take it. There is no need to develop Western Martin County until we figure out how to provide adequate roads, schools, fire, police, medical, retail and all of the other things that go along with developing a huge swath of agricultural land.

For those that know Martin County, you know developing this area would put a huge burden on Palm City and the surrounding areas . . . unless the developers are prepared to pay the price that comes with smart, sensible and burden-free development. Burden-free means you are not going to reap millions of dollars in profits at the expense of the surrounding communities and the county. If you want to develop agricultural land, you'd better be prepared to do it right.
